Road to Zagradje
Last year, my Dad’s family searched for me, wanting to meet me. When I returned with some photographs around Zagradje and showed them to my cousins, they told me what I photographed was the land that once belonged to my father’s Mom.
In Zagradje, I found many things built by the Muminovic family- extended cousins of mine. Zagradje is a part of Kakanj municipality, 30 minutess away from Zenica where my Dad went to live to seek education and find work. In Zenica, he discovered the seed for the oyster mushroom on his own, and has been growing mushrooms ever since. My Dad now lives in Kentucky with my brothers and doesn’t know about the project I am preparing for him.
