Perucica: The Last Rainforest In Europe

Po stoti put cujem kako me zoves, Prirodo.

Ona suti, a govori.

In English below.

For the hundred time, I heard you calling me, Nature. To stop and to turn around. And I listen every time I hear you.

Dear Perucica, I did not know you were right next to me. When the bus stopped, I was angry to see people running to see the waterfall, because part of our team was walking extra miles so the bus could go down the macadam easier. I followed the people into the forest to find our guide, and halfway there I saw him going to get our team. So I stayed in the forest that literally just sucked me in. I didn’t hear the waterfall calling me, I saw it from the distance, for I stopped where I heard the Nature telling me to stop. It was right next to these magical trees. I did not know, but I felt it: around me was Perucica, one of the last remaining primeval forests in Europe. The largest one, right here in our Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Just how much I waited to see it..

And I can not describe how it is when nature is calling you. When it says to stop, to not go any further. When it calls you to return to the same place or when it sends you somewhere else. It is quiet, but it so loudly speaks. And its quietness echoes. It is peaceful, yet the loudest and scariest thunderstorms are heard in its forests. Its soil is tough. The flowers and grass are so gentle. The Nature is so gentle with you that it empowers your body, mind and soul, so gentle yet the strongest of powers are in it..

Dear Nature, do you know how much I love listening to you..
